Many of you know that my family and I are currently Stateside on furlough, but you may not know exactly what we are doing and what the future holds for us. So we wanted to take a moment to give you a brief update.
As soon as we were able to get Chloe’s visa (Thank you, Jesus!), we returned to the US for our first furlough in four and a half years. During this season, we are trying to rest and recuperate from nearly five years in field. We are also taking this opportunity to reconnect with our family, friends, and church. Additionally, during this season, we have been traveling to different churches, preaching and sharing about all that God is doing in Uganda. The plan is for us to stay through the holiday season and then head back to Uganda early in the new year. Kelly is pregnant with our sixth child (a boy!), and the due date is January 6th. She will deliver the baby here in America, then we will begin the process of heading back to Uganda for two more years.
Obviously, going back to Uganda for another two-year commitment means that we have many financial needs. Over the past 4.5 years, God has been faithful to us and has continued to provide and care for us. But we have never been fully funded. We are attempting to go back to Uganda being fully funded this time! Which means we need another $2,000 in monthly commitments. Additionally, we need $20,000 in one-time gifts to cover travel costs, new supplies, and repairing or replacing all of our things which Africa has broken and worn down over the years.
Would you consider helping us reach our support goal as we continue to pursue God’s call on our lives? We love and appreciate you all. We could not do what we do without the love and support of you all! May God bless you for your faithfulness.
– Smooth and Kelly
