Someone has said that a person can live 40 days without food, 4 days without water, and 4 minutes without air. But a person cannot live 4 seconds without hope. We live in a world crying out for hope. What better time to proclaim the message of hope that we have in Jesus Christ than now.
It reminds me of an African woman I met last year in one of our medical clinics in Uganda. We were many miles out in a remote village. Our team had been hard at work caring for the many medical needs of the people – Children with malaria and worms, mothers with many aches and pains, men with stomach ailments, etc. The list seems unending. At the end of the day, I shared the gospel with a young mother who had just come through the clinic. As I spoke about the love of God and the forgiveness of sins she seemed to drink in every word like a thirsty soul. She gladly opened her heart to Jesus Christ and received him as her Savior and Lord. As she turned to leave she stopped and looked back at me and said, “Others have come to our village to bring us medicine. But you are different. You have brought us hope!”
Pray for us this month (May 23 – June 4) as we travel to Uganda with our annual medical team to meet physical needs, point people to Jesus, plant new churches, and train up leaders. Thank you for your partnership with our ministry to bring hope to this broken world. I’m so grateful to serve the King of Kings with you.
